Baby Step.

So basically I really need to take a photography class, and learn to experiment more with my camera. Because for a while I felt like I was in this super un creative/ artistic whole that I couldn't get out of. But now I feel like I'm beginning the climb out. (Yes I also happen to be listening to The Climb, right now. But that is unrelated. haha) Don't Judge me. Any who. Two days ago I had no work, and didn't feel like spending the entire day watching dirk play a video game. So I suggested that my mom take us to lunch, and then to the rose garden, so we did.
Lunch was good, and the rose's were/ are beautiful. Though I have to admit, I looked at most of them through my camera lens. Whoops. I love John Mayer's line in 3 X 5 "Don't have a camera by my side this time. Hope that I would see the world through both my eyes." Because I really
don't do that enough. But maybe some day I'll work on that. Once I master my photography.
haha At least to my standard.
Okay so I decided to use my manual settings in the gardens, and it was so much fun! Yes a lot of the pictures are blurry, and too dark. But it made me feel cool. So I'm determined to keep working with Manual. Yes sometimes I cheat if I really love a shot, and want at least one good one. So after coming home and looking at the pictures and being extremely disappointed, I took another stab with Kevin. Still lots of blurry ones, but we found a cool enough location that I figure
it balances it out. haha. Also I edited the crap out of most of them, and this is what I got.
Caution: Work in progress.
Okay so I figure I can't make you look at any more.
I love you, and you, and you too.

Hello Seattle

So this past weekend I went to Seattle to visit my wonderful Brittany! It was so much fun. First because I just love her, and her family so just hanging out at her house was a treat! Which is huge, and beautiful by the way. Second I went with a super fun group of people, and we all just fit comfortably together (or not so comfortably on a couch). haha I love traveling. But going with my friends just makes it THAT much better. I probably think situations are awkward, far more often than they actually are. But that weekend I don't think I felt that way even once. Thanks for such a fun trips guys!
I love you.
Love,
Martha

Daddy's Little Girl

I love my Dad.
Probably like all Father child relationships we have a strange connection, that really only we understand. We have an unspoken understanding, the ability to translate for one another, and he knows my love language. I'm a fairly good
child, not the best (Julene), but also not the worse (Dirk). Being the middle child really suites me. My mother often get frustrated with me, but my dad does much much less. I believe it is because of our unspoken understanding. When he asks me to do something, like clean my sheets (every single week) and I say no. It really means, okay fine I will later. And so he just moves on, or like when I said something like you should buy me a car, he either ignores me, or tells me to buy myself one. He also is always willing to help me. I figure most fathers are, but since he is the only one I have had, I think he is exceptionally good at it. Often times I whine about different things in my life, expecting no one to really hear or care. But my dad always hears and even if he doesn't respond right away, he will go do some research and

get back to me with several solutions. For example, just like two days ago, I was whining about my computer shutting down all the time for no reason, today I got an email from my dad. (Yes that is our favorite form of communication) And in the email it gave several solutions to my problem. Which were buying a mac, getting another free sample computer like this one, or buying a less expensive computer. This is a weekly thing, even when I was across seas :) He would shoot me emails with solutions to my problems. One of my favorite things about his approach of being part of my life, is he gives me options. Which is very much unlike my mother, who likes to give me the only right so
lution. (which don't get me wrong is also often helpful).
Anyways back to my dad. We also act as translators for each other, mainly with my mom. Sometime she really doesn't hear what either of us say or sometimes she just doesn't understand why we would think that way. This is normally when I step in and translate for my dad. And when my mom gets all worked up about something I say when I was only kidding. My dad steps in and smooths things over.
I think me and my dad are a lot alike, even though people are always telling me I'm just like my mom. My dad loves children, and not like my mother doesn't, but he will go out of his way to go talk to a child, and try to relate to them. Like at family reunions you will often find my dad over with the children talking about there exciting adventures. I often find myself gravitating to children too. (not in a creepy way, I hope).
My dad also loves to read, and research always finding the newest health plan, or cleaning product. He is also always reading ways to improve his business skills, and communication skills. My favorite book he has read is the love language one, mainly because he discovered I feel love through gifts, notes, and physical messages. Its why I love getting mail. But since he has discovered this, he always finds ways to show his love. If its a Jamba card, or sending me a quick email. He knows me, and I know he loves me.
Hugs and Kisses

p.s. I also love his long sleeves and silly hat.
also to explain the second picture. I couldn't resist, after writing this I walked inside and found this which is his new motorcycle manual and his reading glasses, who else ever reads the manuals? haha gotta love him. Also its cute that he just bought a new bike.

Inspire

Well I have suddenly gotten a second wind of energy. (It was a long day with the Bridge man- love him, but the zoo wore me out). So I decided to put it to use, and blog. Tonight I spend sometime with both my mother and Louisa, two women I love dearly. First I watched "Because I said So" with mom, which is like a weirdly perfect mother daughter movie. And surprisingly less awkward than I would have imagined. Anyways that movie make me happy, and all smiley. Then I got to watch Step Up with Louisa, which is one of my favorites.
Anyways this isn't about movies, it actually about how so many of my friends inspire me. Louisa as she was about to get out of my car, relayed to me all of her goals (well probably not all of them, but a lot). And it was amazing, because I not only believe she can do them, but I believe she believes she can. Which is where I struggle. I have dreams instead of goals. My real dream job, would be a wedding photographer, but I have settled for a more realistic goal of preschool owner. And even that I am now doubting as a possibility. Louisa who is still on crutches, is beyond ready to run. I admire her so much. She is a stunningly beautiful goal driven girl, who I'm sure is going to get the guy, at the end of her movie. I love her, and would like the thank her for inspiring me, in her actions and beauty. Alexis also got me looking at wedding photography blogs again, and they just make my heart happy. So I think I'm going to buy photoshop, keep taking photos and encourage my friends to get married! And turn some of my dreams into goals, so I can work on something I
love.
Well I also haven't blogged about the love of my life, my Bridger. (Okay not mine, but I like to pretend-not in a creepy way). We have spend almost every waking moment together since I got back, mainly because I'm so tired after trying to keep up with him, I sleep the rest of the
day. Today we spent only a few hours at the zoo, and had so much fun. Thanks to Kevin coming, and helping me carry him around the zoo. It has been a really fun day, hanging out with my two favorite dudes! Well here are some pictures of my love. (Jen asked me to shoot some, so I didn't have to take him to a photo place.)
Love, Martha
