eh math smath.

First off I'd like to say I'm not procrastinating. I'm choosing not to do my math homework...right now. Yes it is 9pm and yes I do need to go get Kayla from the airport in like 30 minutes. And I haven't started my math homework. But I just love reading blogs more. So give me a break world. Its fine.
Now I'd like to confess my love for Jasmine Star. First what a legit name. Wish I has such a cool name. sigh. Well life goes on Martha Mae is pretty sweet too. Thank You parents (but I think mostly my mother). Also thoughts..Should the husband really have a say on the baby's name... I think not. I mean sure I'd love his input, but when it really comes down to it. Its what I want. It is my baby after all. :)
Okay back to Jasmine Star. First if you don't know who she is we either probably aren't very good friends, or you just never listen to what I say.
Jasmine Star is married to JD (which it actually kind of bugs me that she calls him that, but thats just because I hate initials) However he is totally cool enough to pull it off. They are a photo magic team, and produce classic, beautiful, dare I say up lifting photos. They really do make me want to be a better person. I realize I sound kind of like a tool right now. But I'm just being real. Photography especially her's just makes me melt. Also she happens to be freaking sweet at giving advice. And this is the letter she wrote to herself on her most recent blog.

Dear Jasmine of Tuesday Morning...
You might have failed last night. You might have bombed. Badly. You might have said something you regretted (okay, let's be real, with your mouth, this will definitely happen), but keep in mind you gave it your best shot. You practiced and put together something that will hopefully help a few people. And if it doesn't...well...if it doesn't, you gave it a good shot. Failure isn't new in your life, and it takes a lot of failures to get to success, so learn and let it go.
Besides, you can always wallow in self-loathing surrounding by pints of Ben&Jerry's...and convince JD to buy you that Canon 35mm, 1.4 you want from the tradeshow floor out of sheer pity.
Love,
Jasmine of Monday Morning

I mean really. She can even give great advice to herself. She is so amazing. Definitely my hero, and the reason I almost booked a flight to Vegas this week. Don't worry all those who read my facebook I'm not actually dropping out (yet) and moving to Vegas.

Okay just picked Kayla up from the airport and felt like I had just left Portland too. Such a sad day. Driving back to Rexburg...always the worse. Also can we talk about how me and kayla left same time (her from salt lake, me from rexburg.) and Met in Idaho Falls about the same time. That is ridiculous. Well enough of that whining.
I love my life. Its pretty close to perfect.

xoxo martha.

p.s. Gossip girl was on tonight, can't wait to watch it tomorrow!!!

Stars, and City Lights

So yes it is Saturday night, and I am sitting at home catching up on my blogs. So yes judge me how you will. :) I was almost brave enough to call this guy nate, but first he didn't give me his number. Second I was going to ask to go see Dear John with me. And third, I'm way to chicken.
Also I kind of really like this other guy, but I really just need to get over that. So I'm kind of just hoping Nathan is really awesome, and happens to like losers. (aka me)
My mom today said she would pay for it, if I asked someone out. But really if I ask someone out then they would be like do I need to pay, and then it all becomes awkward. haha Or maybe I'm just awkward. Maybe.

Anyways, I actually wanted to blog because I was getting out of my car tonight and looked up, which I obviously don't do enough. The sky was covered in brilliant stars. I have a slight obsession with the sky. Its constant, and reliable, yet also extremely unpredictable, beautiful, and EPIC! Basically all the things I wish I could be.
While I was just standing there looking at the stars I first thought (wow hope no one walks by and thinks I'm insane) and then I thought that's such a bummer this doesn't happen in big cities. (because of the lights). So I want to know why can't I have both. I love the city, my city, Portland. But I also love being able to SEE all the stars. So I have decided to stop being whiny and just appreciate the stars when I'm here, and the city lights when I'm there. Both are stunning, and just like Portland and Rexburg I love different things about them.
Portland has my family, my Bridger, my best friend Alexis, and all my memories.
Yet in Portland I feel my life stop, it goes to a stand still, and I just watch everyone pass me by.
Rexburg is small, cold, and in Idaho.
Yet it has my wonderful school, byui, my cousin, my best friend Kevin, and new friend Kayla, and it keeps me moving, constantly moving closer and closer to my goals (whatever those might be?!)
So I have decided I love and need both. No one ever said I have to choose stars or city lights, I guess I can have both, just at different times.

goodbyes

I hate saying goodbye, over and over again. And yet I wouldn't give up the chance at seeing my friends even for a moment. Alexis came up this weekend, well mainly Saturday. Which really was NOT enough time. She is one of the loves of my life. And life is just easier, happier, better when she is here with me. It felt so natural too, like she had always just lived on my floor, and gone grocery shopping with me and Dylan every week. And yes I know Alexis you are going to read this. And I don't want to you feel any more pressure from anyone especially me to go to a certain school. But I do love you and would LOVE to have you here with me. But I know you need to go where you want to, and what will be best for you.
Yesterday was a blast, it was Kayla's birthday so we partied it up in her tiny apartment. Kayla even did a Hannah Montana performance for us. (just love that girl).

Well I just wanted you all to know how much I love this girl, and how much I already miss her, its 10:30am, she left at 10am. Thanks for coming up, I know its a super long drive. I love you forever! Give Julenie/ shellynie a hug for me.
